A product that develops visual perception. Re-create the mosaic pictures on the pattern tray – or use your imagination. The contents of the box :
* a divided box with pieces neatly separated
* Gridboard that fits neatly onto the lid of the box (grid of 17 x 17 squares)
* 490 plastic tiles
* 12 work cards (22 x 22 cm)
In the process of reproducing the picture shown on the card, the child must select the suitable shape, identify it’s position on the plastic tray and place it correctly. This process is called pattern reproduction.
Pattern reproduction is going to help your child to recognise the shapes of different letters and then reproduce them when writing.
How to play with a 3 year old?
* Sort the colours into groups (a pre-maths skill).
* Place the shapes into the gridboard – create your own patterns and develop fine motor skills.
* Mom can make a ‘pattern’ with the shapes on the top row.
The child then copies mom’s pattern on the row below.
Playing with ages 4 and more?
* The perfect age to start copying the cards that are included in this product.
* Can you show me a group of 5?
Show me a group that is more than 6.
Divide the 9 shapes into groups of 3. How many groups do you have?
* Mom’s can trace the outline of a shape on one of the cards.
Give the child the outlined shape and ask them to complete on the tray (they now have to do some problem-solving to figure out which shapes will match the outline). Great for ages 6+
